Skype for BusinessAre you ready for Skype for Business

If you have Microsoft Lync 2010 or 2013 on premises, or Lync Online with Office 365, you'll have access to the new Skype for Business client on "Patch Tuesday" - April 14, with Skype for Business Server set for release on May 1.

Administrators will have the ability to control the new UI, with switches that allow you to back to the Lync 2013 within the Office 365 client. Updates to Office 365 can also be paused for up to 12 months, or administrators can even use Powershell to pause updates for Skype for Business only -- until you and your users are ready for all the new features.

See how in this Office Mechanics video from Microsoft:

Once activated, Skype for Business users will be able to access:

  • The best features of Lync - like screen sharing - with a user interface based on Skype
  • New high availability options, including SQL server always on support
  • Improved feature discoverability
  • Video connectivity
  • Skype Directory search

Join the UC Revolution and learn the simple, cost-effective steps you can take to make the transition go smoothly for you – and painlessly for your users.
